Blue Water Tavern, Feb. 2011

This is a good sized restaurant located at the Pine Tree Shoppes, 12087 Perry Highway, Wexford PA 15090. Owner is Matthew Hughes, matt@eatbluewater.com. This place has wine/beer tasting parties.
When two fat ladies were there, and after questioning several things on the menu we ordered porterhouse steaks. One ordered rare and one medium. After a long delay, the water offered us rolls and butter. Don't bother with these for the rolls were supermarket quality and the "butter" is a chemical smelling margarine. After more waiting, the waiter came to us to explain that because he was new his orders didn't go to the kitchen, causing the long delay. When we were finally served, the steaks were perfect. The fries were hot and crispy without being over done. This was one of the best steak and fries dinner either of us had had,at a restaurant in a long time.
We spoke with the owner, Matthew after the meal and he confirmed the trouble that the waiter had with our orders and apologized. He offered that the rolls were nothing special and that margarine was going to stay. I expressed my opinion, that a place that serves as good a steak as his should provide real butter for the bread and real cream (or half and half) for good coffee.
